Breaking the Frame is an internationally celebrated documentary chronicling the journey of a mother and her son, Baiduriyya Bakshi. Confronted by societal misunderstanding and clinical categorization, Baiduriyya defied conventions by entering the demanding world of high fashion and couture modeling.
As the first fashion model with autism from West Bengal, Baiduriyya's runway presence challenged mainstream aesthetic standards, asserting that neurodiversity brings distinct expressive beauty and artistic depth.
The film won 6 major honors at the International Tagore Awards 2026, including Best Documentary, Best Visionary Director for Soumen Das, and Best Editor for Sayanhya Das, alongside official selections at the Singapore Lion and Japan International Global Film Festivals.
